Spend a week or two in beautiful Aspen, Colorado learning about wine, eating fine food and enjoying the Rocky Mountains.
Overview Syllabus - Course Schedule
Two 1 week courses. Available separately, or together.
The first week we cover the basics, but even the most experienced taster will benefit from these tastings and lectures, as participants learn to hone their palettes. Sessions primarily consist of tasting wine, in order to acquire practical knowledge.
The second week, we concentrate on tastings and lectures that will help you to become a confident and professional wine buyer. You will learn the nuances of purchasing wines for resale, or investment. Blind tasting and component identification will take your abilities to a new level.
Mornings are free to explore the mountains, with tastings and lectures in the afternoons Now that we are associated with the Cooking School of Aspen, we will hands on cooking demonstrations as we learn about food & wine pairings.
This rare opportunity is presented twice a year, Spring and Fall, and includes all lessons, tastings, and some meals. Accommodations, airfare and transfers are available.
Those more serious in their pursuits, may sit the Wine Adept Certification Exam, at the end of the advanced course. Extra lectures and reading assignments will help to prepare you for the exam. Because of the serious nature of the exam, dinners are not included in the package, as it is expected participants will be studying in the evenings. Those sitting the exam are welcome to join the rest of us for dinner, on a pay as you go basis.

Cost
The cost, per person, for the course alone, is $1,650 a week, or $3000 for both weeks. The Wine Adept Certification exam is an additional $250.
